Welcome to TruBamboo
Why Bamboo?
The benefits of manufacturing with bamboo go beyond
its aesthetic beauty. From its unmatched strength and
durability to its sustainability, it boasts a wide
array of benefits.
Bamboo is...
The fastest growing woody plant on Earth – It grows
faster than the fastest growing trees and some species
can grow up to one meter a day, making it possible to
literally watch it grow. It can be harvested in three
to five years versus the 10 to 20 years it takes to
harvest most softwoods.
Important to the balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide
in the atmosphere - Bamboo is the fastest growing
canopy for the re-greening of degraded areas and
generates more oxygen than equivalently sized areas of
trees. It lowers light intensity and project against
ultraviolet rays and is a purifier for the atmosphere
and soil.
A viable replacement for wood – Bamboo is an extremely
strong and durable building material. Its tensile
strength is 28,000 per square inch versus 23,000 for
steel.
Versatile with a short growth cycle – There are more
than 1,000 species of bamboo on the earth. This
diversity makes it adaptable to many environments and
it can tolerate extremes in precipitation for 30 to 250
inches of rainfall annually.
A critical element of the economy, Bamboo and its
related industries already provide income, food and
housing to over 2.2 billion people worldwide. There
is a three to five year return on investment for a new
bamboo plantation versus eight to ten years for rattan.
Notes on Care...
For best results, apply TruBamboo Cutting Board Oil
once a day for one week before using or washing the
bamboo products. After the first week of oiling, the
bamboo product should be oiled weekly. Bamboo boards
and accessories are NOT dishwasher safe. Wash with
soap and warm water only.
