Butter Cookies Recipe
Yields: 5-6 dozen cookies

1 lb 4 (sticks butter) In a mixing bowl, beat butter and sugar. Separate 3 eggs. Add the 3 yolks and the remaining whole egg to the butter. Refrigerate egg whites. Add vanilla. Beat until well mixed. Stir in flour. Shape dough into ball: wrap in wax paper. Chill 3 hours. Divide dough into 4 balls. Roll out to 3/8 inch. Lightly beat whites, brush on cookies.

1 tsp vanilla
4 cups flour
350° 10-12 minutes

Easter Bunny Cookies Recipe
Yields: 3 dozen cookies

For the cookies-

1 package (18 oz) refrigerated sugar cookie dough

¾ cup all-purpose flour

 

Making the Batter-

1. Preheat over to 350°F.  In a medium bowl, combine cookie dough and flour; mix well.

2. On a lightly floured rolling pin, roll the dough to a 1/8 inch thickness.  Using the small and large cookie cutters. cut out bunny shapes.  Re-roll scraps and continue cutting shapes.

3. Place bunny cutouts on an ungreased baking sheet.  Bake cookies until golden brown, about 9 minutes.  Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.


For the icing-

3 cups confectioners’
sugar
½  teaspoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons powered
egg white
6 tablespoons warm water

pink food coloring
green food coloring
blue food coloring
yellow food coloring

large resealable bags
pastry bag fitted with fine tip

bamboo skewers

 

Making the icing-

1. Using an electric mixer set on low
speed, process powdered egg white and warm water until all the water is
incorporated, about 2 minutes.

2. Add the sugar and the lemon juice; blend on high speed until icing is smooth, about 5 minutes. Divide icing evenly among 5 bowls. Set aside 1 bowl of icing.

3. Tint remaining bowls of icing pink, green, blue, and yellow; spoon each color into large resealable plastic bags; snip off one corner for piping.

4. Using tinted icing, pipe an outline onto each cookie then fill with base color; spread icing evenly. Let icing set until fry.

5. Place reserved white icing in a pastry bag fitted with a fine tip. Pipe designs on cookies as desired. Let icing set until dry.

6. Affix skewers on to the back of each cookie with remaining white icing; let dry. Arrange bunnies as desired.

Gingerbread Ornaments Recipe
Yields: 3 1/2 dozen 

1 cup butter Cream butter and sugar, add molasses and egg.  Beat until smooth.  Sift together flour, spice and baking soda; add to mixture.  Beat until well mixed.  Cover and chill 2 hours.  Preheat oven to 350°.  Divide dough in half.  Roll dough, half at a time, to a ¼ inch thickness.  Cut out dough with 5" Gingerbread Boy or Girl cookie cutter.  Make a hole for hanging with toothpick near the top of each cookie. 

Bake cookies on greased baking sheets 9-11 min. or until edges darken slightly.  Cool for 5 min. then remove to wire racks to cool completely.  Repeat with remaining dough.  Decorate with icing as desired.

1 cup brown sugar
2 cup molasses
1 egg
5 cups flour
2 T. pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp. baking soda
asst. decorating icing

 


Homemade Dog Bones Recipe

2 ½ cups whole
wheat flour
Preheat over to 350°.  Combine first 6 ingredients.  Cut in tomato paste, mix in egg, add ice water.  Form a ball and roll dough to ½" thick and cut into shapes using our tin cookie cutters.  Place on lightly greased cookie sheet and bake 25-30 minutes.  

Cool before serving.
